"Marching Forward" is a documentary film about the Jones and Edgewater High School Marching Bands that were sent to the World's Fair in 1964. Directed by Oswmer Louis along with Dr. Robert Cassanello and Dr. Lisa Mills, this film highlights the memories of several of the band members amidst the tensions of the Civil Rights Movement. Several graduate students including myself were asked to animate "flashback" pieces that were used throughout the film. The story and history of Marching Forward shows how by working together, a community can bring a great positive change. Having the opportunity to collaborate with this wonderful team to tell such an important story is definitely one of the highlights of my graduate career.
